About the Everett Chorale

For 46 years, this outstanding ensemble has established a tradition of vocal excellence in Snohomish County as they continue to offer a quality musical experience with a variety of choral pieces programmed by Music Director Lee Mathews. The Chorale often features outstanding area soloists and ensembles and takes pride in being a truly "community choir," performing for a wide variety of local charities and service clubs.

LEE MATHEWS - Music Director and Conductor

Lee Mathews, the current Music Director and Conductor of the Everett Chorale, develops a series of concerts each year to delight and entertain audiences. A graduate of the University of Montana, Mr. Mathews has advanced work towards the DMA at the University of Northern Colorado. During his fourteen years of college teaching, he founded the Montana Youth Choir and has made six European tours with this fine ensemble. He is a retired Snohomish School District music teacher. Lee is currently the Choral Director at Our Savior Lutheran Church, Everett.

STEVEN TORRENCE –Assistant Conductor

Steven Torrence, Assistant Conductor of the Everett Chorale, has a long list of musical credits as choral conductor, vocal soloist and music teacher. Steve was a vocal major at Western Washington University. He has served as assistant director for the Skagit Valley Chorale in Mount Vernon and has directed a variety of church choirs over the past twenty-five years. He is presently Director of Music at Everett First Presbyterian Church. In addition, he has served as director for numerous musical theater productions and has been a featured bass soloist in Montgomery, Alabama and in Washington State with the Skagit Valley Chorale and the Everett Chorale.

Kim

D. KIM CROFT – Accompanist

D. Kim Croft holds Bachelor and Master of Music degrees in Organ Performance from Brigham Young University and a Master of Arts in Musicology from New York University, and has done additional post graduate work in Musicology at the University of Washington. While enrolled at Brigham Young University Kim held the position of coach/accompanist in the University opera program, and performed a series of guest recitals at the Mormon Tabernacle in Salt Lake City. Currently, he is organist at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Everett. Kim and his wife, Shauna, are the parents of five children.

The Everett Chorale Association Board

The Board is composed of volunteers who are vitally interested in the success of the organization. Their task is to ensure the smooth operation of the business and structural aspects of the Chorale, including scheduling, budgeting and financial support, publicity, correspondence, policies, music handling and providing as much assistance as possible to the director.
