The Everett Chorale
"With A Voice Of Singing" is the theme for the 2007-2008 concert season of the Everett Chorale. This 90-voice ensemble attracts a diverse group of singers that are interested in expanding their musical knowledge while sharing their joy of music for the enrichment and enjoyment of the greater Everett Community. Over the past 42 years, this outstanding ensemble has established a tradition of vocal excellence in Snohomish County as they continue to offer a quality musical experience with a variety of choral pieces programmed by Music Director Lee Mathews and former directors Pat Castro, Ted Wahlstrom and David Andre. The Chorale often features outstanding area vocal and instrumental soloists and ensembles, including their own Choral Arts Orchestra.
The Everett Chorale takes pride in being a truly "community choir." As a member of the Everett Chamber of Commerce, the Chorale joins their program to provide gifts for needy children at Christmas. They also participate in a fundraising concert to benefit the Volunteers of America Food Bank, and perform for a wide variety of local charities and service clubs. February 2002 marked the first "International Choral Festival" hosted by the Everett Chorale with five choirs from the Puget Sound and Canada providing three days of free concerts throughout the community.
The Chorale has participated in the Advent Sing in Vienna, Austria, sent an ensemble to perform at Carnegie Hall under the direction of John Rutter on two occasions, as well as performing on a regular basis such pieces as Orff's "Carmina Burana," "A German Requiem" by Brahms and Beethoven's "Ninth Symphony" with the Everett Symphony. This past season the Chorale joined forces with Choral Sounds Northwest, the Issaquah Chorale and the Rainier Symphony to perform at Benaroya Hall in Seattle.
