Everett Chorale to Perform Holiday Music from Around the WorldOctober 11, 2007 News ReleaseThe Everett Chorale, under the direction of Lee Mathews for his 15th consecutive year, will begin their 42nd season with "A Holiday to Remember" at the Everett Performing Arts Center on Saturday, December 1 at 7:30 PM and again on Sunday, December 2 at 3:00 PM. As music performed during the holiday season has been one way to brighten the dark, cold winter with warmth and light, the Chorale’s holiday concert follows that theme. Music from a variety of world cultures, religions, and regions will celebrate the joy of Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, Solstice, and Christmas. From the secular (“White Christmas”) to sacred (“O Come, O Come Immanuel”), the traditional (“Let All Mortal Flesh Keep Silence”) to contemporary (“Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree”), the east (“Chanuke, Oi Chanuke”) to west (“Once Upon a Wintertime”), the music from this concert will warm the hearts of everyone. See our tickets page for purchasing information or call the Everett Performing Arts Center at 425-257-8600 or toll free 1-888-257-3722 or visit the Box Office between 11 AM and 7 PM Tuesday through Saturday. In addition to the 2007 holiday concert, the Chorale will perform the Faure “Requiem” January 25, 2008 with the Everett Symphony for “A Night in Paris”. The 90- voice ensemble is comprised of diverse singers from Everett and the surrounding area. This past July the Everett Chorale represented the State of Washington and performed at the 2007 International Choral Festival in Beijing, China. Membership in the Everett Chorale is open to all interested singers with previous choral singing experience. Contact info@everettchoralenull.org for audition information. |
